Dawn Murphy started her jewelry career in 1981 during her Junior year of high school working part time for an independent jewelry store, The Diamond Room, in Bryan Texas. In 1987 she left to start a family, and continued to do repair and custom work in her home studio until 1994 when Dawn opened her own store, The Karat Patch. Specializing in custom design and specialty curations, Dawn took great pride and joy in providing a personalized experience for each of her clients. Although she closed her brick and mortar in 2008, The Karat Patch is still alive and well following Dawn’s model of “Personable Curation” in a by-appointment-only fashion.
